We are thrilled to share our plans for 2024 including a wide array of school offerings. Our 2024 schools' program covers all three streams – in-theatre, in-school and interactive installation – and offers the opportunity to experience Patch work in Adelaide and regional SA.

All Patch performances have accompanying educational resources, enabling you to extend the experience and learning into your classroom.

Superluminal

South Australian Museum | Terms 2 & 3 | Years K–3

Patch Theatre's spectacular new interactive installation Superluminal is premiering at the South Australian Museum in terms 2 & 3, 2024.

Superluminal is an enchanting interactive experience designed to ignite children's curiosity. A theatrical installation full of Patch’s renowned interactive light play, Superluminal investigates nature’s extraordinary creatures, systems and beauty, and how time shapes them.

Guided by performers, children are invited to explore light, time and the wonders of nature, fostering a sense of magical connection and belonging in the world.

I Wish...

Regional SA | Term 3, Weeks 5–6 | Years K–3

Patch Theatre and Gravity & Other Myths are returning to Country Arts South Australia venues with acrobatic spectacular I Wish… in term 3, 2024.

Students are invited into a world of colour and creativity as performers imagine all the things they could be – from an astronaut to a unicorn, and everything in between. While exploring their feelings and differences on stage, they reveal the magic of individuality.

Spark

Year-round on-demand in your classroom.

Bring the magic of theatre to your classroom with Spark – a series of interactive in-school arts experiences. In each Spark session, an artist invites students to shape the experience, providing unique, student-led creative learning.

We have two Spark experiences available for booking in 2024: Once Upon a Jar and Glow & Tell

Spark: Glow & Tell

Years K–3

An interactive light-filled storytelling adventure.

“They loved hearing about Edgell's life and experiences and were filled with wonder at the way he was able to tell his stories with pictures drawn on the floor and tent." – Teacher

Using UV light, in a custom-built tent, the classroom is transformed into an intimate performance space, where stories and imagined worlds come alive as glowing drawings appear on the walls and floor. Following the performance, students are invited to create and illustrate their own stories in glowing UV light.

There are two versions of Glow & Tell, created by artists Edgell Junior Edgell and Evyenia Stefanidis – each version shares a unique story exploring themes of family and culture.

Spark: Once Upon a Jar

Years R–3

Students are invited to choose their own adventures in whimsical storytelling experience Once Upon a Jar.

A special visitor arrives in the classroom with a suitcase full of old gifts – some mysterious jars from birthdays long past. Each jar contains a distinct smell and countless story possibilities. Students shape the narrative, bringing their far-fetched ideas to life, before embarking on a treasure hunt to find the most mysterious smell of all.
