Shining Bright: a super start to 2025

February 10th, 2025

What a brilliant start to the year we have had at Patch!

Sea of Light wowed audiences with two seasons at ILA Adelaide and Canberra Theatre Centre, while Superluminal wrapped up a sunny run at the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney.

Our first show of the year took place at ILA Playground in Light Square who hosted Sea of Light along with Neon Canvas by UOA Realities Extended. From 8-26 January, children, parents and families enjoyed the last few days of the school holidays and immersed themselves in our magical light filled sea.

Sea of Light also ventured eastwards for a season at Canberra Theatre Centre for a short season 17-25 January. Over 2,500 people enjoyed the adventure and played with light, sound and colour.

The stellar Patch team had wonderful time sharing Superluminal with children and families in Sydney. This was our first season of Superluminal since it’s Adelaide premiere in 2024 and it was shown as part of the Australian National Maritime Museum’s Summer Holiday Program.

Our Creative Producer Sasha Zahra said "It was wonderful to return to the Maritime Museum after the 2022 season of Sea of Light and to work with the excellent team there again. A big shout out to our touring artists and all-round legends Evyenia Stefandis, Edgell Junior Edgell, Vaishnavi Suryaprakash and Touring Company Stage Manager extraordinaire Nadia Bobaly. The team brilliantly delivered over 300 Superluminal sessions to adoring audiences and so expertly represented Patch on the road."
