Meet Marketing & Communications Manager Hannah

February 11th, 2025

We spoke to one of Patch's newest staff members, Marketing & Communications Manager Hannah, about her role at Patch, her career highlights and what she's looking forward to in 2025.

Tell us about your role at Patch.

As the Marketing & Communications Manager I am responsible for a wide range of activities to promote Patch and our shows and make sure children and families get to experience what we do. Any day can be completely different to the next - from devising imagery for new shows, writing blogs or promotional materials, to working on media releases, social posts or publicity, and even to promoting our in-school shows to teachers both in Adelaide and the regions. There's a huge range of responsibility in the role which flexes a lot of different parts of the brain!

What’s the best show you’ve ever seen?

What a question! I lived in London for quite a few years so I was lucky enough to see lots of shows on the West End. Some which immediately spring to mind are Waitress composed by Sara Bareilles, an insatiable Glenn Close as Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard, seeing some great performances at Shakespeare's Globe and a gender-swapping interpretation of Stephen Sondheim's Company.

The first show I can remember seeing was Cats at the Festival Centre, I was enchanted!

Tell us about your career highlights.

After returning to Adelaide, I was very fortunate to find myself working at State Opera South Australia. I learned so much during my time there, from a growing appreciation of the artform and the dedication and talent of the performers, to seeing a production go from an idea to a fully fledged show on stage.

And I am of course so excited about starting this role with Patch! It's a great opportunity to work for a company which has such great history of story telling and champions diverse South Australian talent. An appreciation of the arts starts young so its exciting to be part of the process of fostering the next generation of art lovers and to play a role in bringing our experiences to children.

Enjoying the sights in Paris.

Advocating for 'wear your crown to work' day.

Good food, good company.

If you had to live in the fictional world of a show, movie, or book for a day, which one would you choose and why?

I love The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Not so sure about the scurvy but I wouldn't mind the rum!

What are you excited for in 2025?

It's been a great start to 2025 so far, the team at Patch have been so welcoming and supportive since I joined in January. I am really looking forward to getting under the skin of what we do and understanding it on the same level that everyone here is so passionate about. I also can't wait for the moment I get to see children enjoying the show and their reactions as they interact with our performers and immersive experiences.
